We are delighted to share that we have been accepted for membership with the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH)
ADCH is the closest we have to a regulatory body in rescue. ADCH promotes the safeguarding of welfare standards for dogs and cats needing new homes and supports those working and volunteering in the sector.
Back in November, we were voluntarily inspected and audited to ensure that our policies and processes meet ADCH welfare standards. From the start, we have been totally committed to rescuing and rehoming responsibly, so obtaining this accreditation was incredibly important. We built our charity with the ADCH guidelines in mind at all times, and taking the time to lay those foundations before we got started has really contributed to our success so far.
We passed our assessment with 100% compliance, which is very rare for such a new rescue. It was a nail-biting day (let’s face it, nobody actually enjoys being scrutinised even if we asked them to come ) and we’re so, so proud of our results.
We are absolutely over the moon to officially be part of the ADCH community.
A big thank you to Mary and Jo, our fabulous fosterers who welcomed the ADCH team into their homes and answered all their questions about our processes.
