About One Wish
Founded in 2025 by a small (but mighty!) team of dog lovers, The One Wish Dog Foundation rescues and rehomes unwanted and abandoned dogs in the Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire areas.
We’re a foster-based rescue, and since our inception, we have taken in 35 dogs. These were mostly strays and welfare cases, and many were sadly facing uncertain futures.
As a registered charity, we rely on donations, fundraising, and excellent financial management to deliver our ambitious objectives.
The Role
As Treasurer, you will be a key member of our Board of Trustees, overseeing the charity’s financial health and ensuring strong governance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and monitor the charity’s financial position.
• Present monthly financial reports to the Board of Trustees.
• Ensure proper financial controls and procedures are in place.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets and accounts.
• Liaise with auditors/independent assessors.
• Ensure Charity Commission compliance.
• Advise the Board on financial strategy and risk management.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Has financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping experience.
• Understands charity finance and governance.
• Cares deeply about dog welfare.
Time Commitment
• Trustee meetings are once a month, and mostly online.
• Approx 1-2 hours per week for financial oversight, strategy, administration and reporting
• This is a flexible, voluntary position.
