Events Organiser

What You’ll Do 

​

• Plan, organise, and deliver a variety of engaging fundraising events, including stalls at at least 12 local fetes each year and one larger fundraiser per quarter (such as quiz nights, jumble sales, or similar events). 

• Coordinate key event logistics, including venue bookings, schedules, and health & safety requirements. 

• Work closely with fellow volunteers and trustees to identify new event opportunities and grow our fundraising calendar. 

• Boost attendance and income by driving ticket sales, securing sponsorship, and helping promote events through social media and eye‑catching flyers (with support from our volunteer designer if needed). 

• Recruit, brief, and support volunteers during the planning process and on the day of the event. 

• Take a hands‑on role at events by setting up equipment, welcoming guests, managing registrations, and running stalls. 

• Handle donations responsibly, support accurate attendee records, and help evaluate each event’s success so we can continue to improve and grow. 

 

Desirable Skills & Experience

You don’t need to tick every box - enthusiasm and reliability matter most! But it’s helpful if you have:

• Experience in event planning, fundraising, or community activities 

• Strong organisation and time‑management skills 

• Confidence communicating with a wide range of people 

• A proactive, can‑do attitude and the ability to work independently 

• Basic social media or marketing skills 

• Comfort handling money and keeping simple records 

• Team leadership or volunteer coordination experience 

• A genuine love of dogs and alignment with our mission
