Community Fundraiser

Community support is the beating heart of the One Wish Dog Foundation and currently our primary source of funding. As a Community Fundraiser, you’ll help turn local kindness into life‑changing support for dogs in need. This is a highly flexible and people‑focused role, perfect for someone who loves building relationships and inspiring others to get involved.

The role can be tailored to suit your strengths and availability and can also be shared between several volunteers with different skillsets - whether you’re confident speaking to groups, great at networking, or prefer behind‑the‑scenes coordination.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and nurture relationships with local donors, businesses, schools, community groups, and clubs to encourage ongoing fundraising support.

  • Thank and celebrate supporters by sending certificates of appreciation to businesses and individuals who have run their own fundraising campaigns.

  • Distribute and manage collection boxes and promotional materials in local businesses, ensuring they are well maintained and collected regularly.

  • Represent One Wish Dog Foundation at community events, fairs, schools, and local gatherings, helping raise awareness and funds.

  • Deliver engaging talks and presentations about our mission, impact, and fundraising needs to community groups.

  • Work alongside our Events Organiser to identify and support local fundraising activities such as coffee mornings, raffles, sponsored challenges, and charity days.

  • Promote fundraising initiatives through local networks and social media, where appropriate.

  • Act as a friendly, professional ambassador for One Wish, always upholding the charity’s values and reputation.

  • Provide updates and feedback to the trustees on community engagement and fundraising progress.
