Grants Fundraiser
As One Wish Dog Foundation continues to grow, grant funding is becoming an increasingly vital way for us to fund meaningful projects, including our community support schemes that help dogs and their humans when they need it most.
As a Grants Fundraiser, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing the funding that allows our work to expand and our impact to deepen.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys research, persuasive writing, and strategy, and who wants their skills to directly support life‑changing work for dogs and the wider community.
What You’ll Do
-
Research and identify grant opportunities from charitable trusts, foundations, and statutory funders that align with the Foundation’s mission and values.
-
Prepare and submit high‑quality grant applications, including compelling proposals, clear budgets, and supporting documentation.
-
Work closely with trustees and volunteers to gather impact data, case studies, and outcome evidence that bring our work to life.
-
Maintain a grants calendar, tracking deadlines, submissions, decisions, and reporting requirements.
-
Support the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports for successful grants, as required by funders.
-
Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with grant funders through clear and timely communication.
-
Ensure all applications are accurate, compliant, and persuasive, following funder guidelines closely.
-
Provide regular updates to the trustees on application progress, outcomes, and future funding opportunities.
Desirable Skills & Experience
You don’t need to be a professional fundraiser - enthusiasm and commitment matter most. But this role is especially suited to someone with:
-
Experience in grant writing, fundraising, research, or charity funding (helpful but not essential)
-
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
-
Confidence working with budgets and financial information
-
Good organisation skills and the ability to manage deadlines
-
A methodical, research‑driven approach
-
Ability to collaborate with others to gather information and insights
-
An interest in charity impact, outcomes, and storytelling
-
A genuine passion for animal welfare and One Wish’s mission
